Enterprise City Awarded £2M DCMS Grant To Support Exchange Tech Hub

Enterprise City, the tech, media and cultural cluster in central Manchester, has been awarded a £2 million DCMS grant to support its Exchange tech hub.

The £2 million grant is managed by Manchester City Council on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS.) The goal of the council’s funding is to create and sustain over 2,000 jobs in Manchester over the next 15 years by nurturing start-ups and fostering collaboration.

Enterprise City’s Exchange programme will host and ‘incubate’ entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working with developing digital technologies – helping start-ups to get on their feet and existing businesses to grow.

The 6 to 12-month scheme is in partnership with Tech Nation and will offer business learnings and support programmes to inspire the ambitious early stage Manchester-based companies.

Exchange will be based in the Bonded Warehouse, an All Work & Social operated building at the heart of Enterprise City. The Exchange members will see benefits such as subsidised flexible workspaces, events, workshops, meet-ups and more.

Applications for the first cohort for the Exchange programme have now closed. The first cohort will support around 15 companies of varying sizes and maturity and will be announced early February.
